We're now fulltime in Ashland, and the year began with frost and snow. This is the lower pond in Lithia Park with the Elizabethan theater in the background.
Our new home was still under construction. Ours is the right-hand half of this building, all three floors. There was still quite a bit of work going on inside.
Cinq Cellars' spring release party. Rae and I then drove back with 50 cases of our wine (and Bill with a bad case of shingles).
We had our first 'meal' in the new kitchen, though the project was not quite complete...
At the end of April we moved out of our condo next door. We had just short of 10 years in the wonderful place and lots of friends and family over the years.
A quick get-away and short hike in Northern California on a spring day. Here's Mt Shasta (and Shastina).
First show of the year in the Elizabethan (preview, actually). It was one of the strongest seasons of theater, all 11 shows were excellent, and we enjoyed the luxury of seeing several of them multiple times.
After a visit to Joseph, Oregon for our grand-neice's high school graduation, we drove back through the beautiful landscape of central Oregon. These are the aptly named Painted Hills of the John Day region.
In the summer, we were pretty well moved in and largely unpacked and receiving the first of several visits from friends and family.
The natives were quite curious about what Rae and I do during the day in our office on the ground floor. Rae is working remotely for Merck Research Labs, and Bill is consulting with most of his time spent with KOA Accel (medical device startups).
A visit to nearby Crater Lake with Bill's sister and family.
Here they are out of sillhouette at a performance in the Bowmer Theater.
Bill met up with his long time school friends in Milwaukee. Friends since first grade...
On a buisness trip to Taiwan, Bill took a couple of days to explore. Here's the skyline of Taipei taken after a climb up Elephant Mountain.
We ended the summer with a long weekend to visit our good friends on Pearl Island, just off San Juan Island. This view from the float plane is of Roche Harbor and Pearl Island.
We supported good friends on a truly epic run across the Grand Canyon this fall. No, we didn't run, but the 4 of them did and completed a rim-to-rim run in badass awesomeness. We just drove the vehicle and took pictures...
We took another weekend trip with friends to see a show in Chicago and catch up with one of our favorite OSF alums.
Bill did his first trail run; it was truly amazing! Photo and motivation by Gwen Turos.
We traditionally close out the OSF season by dressing up for a show, since closing usually lines up with Halloween. Here we are at the penultimate performance of Between Two Knees. You'd have to have seen the show to truly appreciate the costumes.
The year draws to an end with our annual trip to the midwest for a pre-thanksgiving celebration with family. It is wonderful to see the family grow!
And one last weekend trip, again for theater to see another OSF alum and friend in Cabaret in Tucson.
Tank and Harry practice their yin/yang position to welcome in the new year. We wish you all a wonderful 2020!
